Electronic Nature Field Guides

We are producing a dedicated BirdTouch guide for each and every state. Comming soon are Michigan and Wisconsin!
Interpret Earth has been waiting for a mobile platform that could maintain and surpass the high-quality text and images of a printed field guide. There are only a handful of truly portable electronic guides on the market today and are mainly available for outdated hardware based on outdated Palm OS® and Windows Mobile® platforms. Most of these devices were unusable out in the field because of poor visibility in sunlight, limited color display, rough text, small screen size, poor battery life, poor audio quality and not to mention difficult to use. But not anymore:
Interpret Earth currently has a number of Electronic Nature Field Guides under development and we have choosen to publish our guides on the Apple® iPod® touch and iPhone® mobile platforms, because of their extraordinary technology features:
- choice between phone and non-phone based device
- best-in-class user interface operating system
- highly-interactive 'Multi-Touch' touch-screen
- super-bright display, readable in direct sunlight
- high-resolution 3.5" display with 163 pixels per inch
- accurate display of color photos and graphics
- high-quality audio output with headphones or speaker
- lightweight, 4.05 ounces or 4.7 ounces
- extremely small and thin, 4.3"x2.4"x.33" or 4.5"x2.4"x.48"
- very durable with use of readily available cases
- rechargeable with car adapters and solar charger
- long battery life for use in the field

Interpret Earth is in support of launching our new Electronic Nature Filed Guides on the Apple iPod touch and iPhone mobile platform because of Apple's continuing environmental progress to reduce environmental impact. Here is Apple's current 'Environmental Status Report':
